Azura Surgery Center Plantation offers dialysis patients a full scope of dialysis access management procedures in an outpatient setting. Whether a patient has an arteriovenous (AV) fistula, AV graft, or dialysis catheter, this experienced and dedicated team offers proven therapies to ensure the dialysis access remains functioning.  Same day, next day appointments are available for minimal interruption to  dialysis treatment schedules.

Medical Director, Dr. Naveen Goel, along with the entire clinical team, specialize in image-guided vascular procedures. Naveen Goel, Interventional Nephrologist, Medical Director

Naveen Goel, MD

Naveen Goel, MD is an interventional nephrologist specializing in dialysis access management, including critical maintenance procedures.  Procedures Dr. Goel performs include angioplasty, fistulograms, the Miller banding procedure for steal syndrome, thombolysis/thrombectomy, vessel mapping and complete catheter care.  Dr. Goel is the Medical Director of Azura Surgery Center Plantation, Florida.

Dr. Goel graduated from MS University, Baroda Medical College in India and completed his internal medicine training at SUNY, Long Island College Hospital, New York.

In recognition of his excellence in practice and research, Dr. Goel was awarded a certificate of recognition by the Kidney and Urology Foundation of America for his research “Pulmonary Hypertension in Dialysis Patients.”  Dr. Goel, in partnership with Gregg Miller, MD, also pioneered work in the treatment of Dialysis-Associated Steal Syndrome (DASS) and authored a landmark paper titled, “Minimally Invasive Limited Ligation Endoluminal Revision for Dialysis-Associated Steal Syndrome,” published in Kidney International in 2006.

Dr. Goel’s groundbreaking work in nephrology is widely recognized within the community and has fueled the growth of his practice.  He advances the delivery of patient-centered care through teamwork and a robust education program for patients and dialysis caregivers.

He is also a member of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin and the National Kidney Foundation, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.

Dr. Naveen Goel is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine.

Lohlun

John Lohlun, MD

John Lohlun, MD is a transplant and general surgeon specializing in access creation. He treats patients at Azura Surgery Center Plantation.

Dr. Lohlun earned his medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa. He went on to complete an internship and residency in general surgery at New York -Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Lohlun completed a surgical intensive care fellowship at Westchester Medical Center, in Valhalla, New York, and a transplant surgery fellowship at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dr. Lohlun was awarded The Most Outstanding Surgical Resident in the Department of Surgery award at New York -Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, in Brooklyn, New York. He is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. Dr. Lohlun is board-certified in general surgery and is an accredited transplant surgeon.
