Whether you have an AV fistula, AV graft, fistula creation and peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion, peritoneal dialysis catheter, or dialysis catheter, we have the proven treatments to ensure that your dialysis access will function safely and smoothly.

Our vascular surgeon, Dr. Julio Antonio Peguero, brings the full range of medical capabilities to every patient, every visit.

Carlos Claudio-Rodriguez

Carlos Claudio-Rodriguez, MD

Dr. Carlos M. Claudio-Rodriguez is an interventional nephrologist specializing in dialysis access management, including PD and pAVF creation. He treats patients at Azura Vascular Care of Puerto Rico.

Dr. Claudio-Rodriguez earned his medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine Puerto Rico, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He went on to complete an internship at Auxilio Mutuo Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico and residency at San Juan City Hospital, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Dr. Claudio-Rodriguez completed his fellowship at the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Cesar F. Hernandez-Arroyo

Cesar F. Hernandez-Arroyo, MD

Dr. Cesar F. Hernandez-Arroyo, MD is an interventional nephrologist specializing in dialysis access management, including PD and pAVF creation. Dr. Hernandez-Arroyo was the first physician on Puerto Rico and in Latin America to place an endovascular fistula with ultrasound. In 2011, he was awarded Outstanding Academic Performance in Surgery at the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine for excelling above other classmates in surgery clerkship during school. Dr. Hernandez-Arroyo treats patients at Azura Vascular Care of Puerto Rico.

Dr. Hernandez-Arroyo earned his medical degree from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine, in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He went on to complete an internship and residency at Universidad Central del Caribe, Department of Internal Medicine, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Dr. Hernandez-Arroyo completed his fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center, Department of Nephrology and Hypertension, New Orleans, Louisiana and an interventional nephrology fellowship at Madison, Wisconsin.

Dr Julio Antonio Peguero, Vascular Surgeon

Julio Antonio Peguero, MD

Dr. Julio Peguero is a general surgeon specializing in dialysis access management and AVF creation. He is an Associate Professor at Ponce School of Medicine and is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association. Dr. Peguero treats patients at Azura Vascular Care of Puerto Rico.

Dr. Peguero earned his medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, in Jalisco, Mexico. He went on to complete an internship at Lincoln Hospital and Medical Health Center, in Bronx, New York, and residency at Ponce Regional Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Peguero completed a fellowship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Peguero is board certified in Surgery and Critical Care.

Dr. Julio Antonio Peguero treats and manages a range of vascular access issues using the latest in minimally invasive techniques in a safe and comfortable outpatient setting.
