Interventional Nephrologist

Dr. Cesar F. Hernandez-Arroyo, MD is an interventional nephrologist specializing in dialysis access management, including PD and pAVF creation. Dr. Hernandez-Arroyo was the first physician on Puerto Rico and in Latin America to place an endovascular fistula with ultrasound. In 2011, he was awarded Outstanding Academic Performance in Surgery at the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine for excelling above other classmates in surgery clerkship during school. Dr. Hernandez-Arroyo treats patients at Azura Vascular Care of Puerto Rico.

Dr. Hernandez-Arroyo earned his medical degree from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine, in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He went on to complete an internship and residency at Universidad Central del Caribe, Department of Internal Medicine, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Dr. Hernandez-Arroyo completed his fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center, Department of Nephrology and Hypertension, New Orleans, Louisiana and an interventional nephrology fellowship at Madison, Wisconsin.
