At Azura Vascular Care White Marsh (formerly American Access Care of Baltimore), we specialize in the dialysis access management and the minimally invasive treatment of uterine fibroids. Medical director and board-certified interventional radiologist, Dr. Alikhani, MD, and our highly trained clinical team take our commitment to excellence in vascular care as seriously as the conditions we treat. This dedication helps make us one of the premier vascular outpatient centers in the White Marsh area.

For our dialysis patients, we understand how a well-functioning vascular access is essential for successful dialysis treatments. We offer convenient same day, next day appointments for a comprehensive array of minimally invasive outpatient procedures to restore function to all types of vascular access, including an AV fistula or graft, so patients can return to their routine dialysis schedule as quickly as possible.

For a patient suffering from uterine fibroids, we understand how painful and debilitating symptoms can be and how they can negatively impact your quality of life. If you have been diagnosed with fibroids, turn to Azura Vascular Care White Marsh to discuss if you are a candidate for an alternative to hysterectomy. Our center specializes in uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure that is successful in treating uterine fibroids without surgery.

Vascular care has evolved. It’s about choices.

People living with vascular conditions don’t want overnight stays in the hospital, lengthy recovery periods and scheduling issues. They want to return to their daily lives quickly. We deliver a different healthcare experience; one that is invested in people, communication and best-in-class care.

At Azura Vascular Care White Marsh, we are committed to superior service and delivering far more. Our patients can expect:

Prompt appointments For dialysis access management patients, Azura Vascular Care White Marsh offers same day/next day appointments when at all possible, allowing you to return to dialysis quickly. Patients seeking treatment for other vascular conditions will experience convenient scheduling of appointments. At our center, patients avoid the complexities of a hospital admission and return home to recover that same day.

Exceptional patient care Patients encounter a team that is kind and respectful, never indifferent.  Individual needs are accommodated to ensure patients are comfortable and kept well-informed.

Efficient and customized communication The team at Azura Vascular Care White Marsh partners with your physician care team, focusing on coordinating your vascular care. Immediate post-procedure reports are sent to your referring physicians and comprehensive reports follow within 24 hours after the procedure.

Patient Education Our patients see us as partners working to find the best treatment to fit their individual needs in vascular care. Our online and printed materials are vital components of the patient experience and help patients to be well-informed about their health and available treatment options.

Varicose Vein Treatment

Varicose Vein Treatment

Varicose veins are chronic and recurrent conditions. The variety of treatments available does not offer a cure, but rather a control of the condition. Successfully treated veins cannot come back. However, your inborn tendency to develop new veins will not be cured by this or any other form of treatment. Dr. Ali Alikhani treats venous insufficiency completely, removing all backward-flowing veins, making your treatment for varicose veins as thorough as possible.

Peripheral Artery Disease

Peripheral Artery Disease

This buildup—called plaque—narrows your arteries, often reducing or blocking the flow of blood. Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is most commonly seen in the legs, but also can be present in the arteries that carry blood from your heart to your head, arms, kidneys and stomach. Nearly everyone who has PAD, even those who do not have leg symptoms, suffer from an inability to walk as fast or as far as they could before PAD. In all, PAD affects 8 to 12 million people in the United States, especially those that are 50 and older. If you are diagnosed with PAD, the sooner you are treated, the lower your risk of the disease progressing. Talk to Dr. Ali Alikhani about minimally invasive treatment options.

We Offer the Following Services:

Varicocele Embolization

Varicocele Embolization

A varicocele is a varicose vein of the testicle and scrotum that may cause pain, testicular atrophy (shrinkage) or fertility problems. Veins contain one-way valves that work to allow blood to flow from the testicles and scrotum back to the heart. When these valves fail, the blood pools and enlarges the veins around the testicle in the scrotum to cause a varicocele. As a treatment, urologists often suggest open surgical ligation, but Dr. Ali Alikhani can offer varicocele embolization, which is as effective as surgery with less risk, less pain and less recovery time.
