Welcome to Connecticut Access Care/Connecticut Image Guided Surgery!

We proudly offer state-of-the-art, outpatient vascular care for arterial and venous disease to the communities in Fairfield, Connecticut and beyond. We are committed to maximizing patient health and happiness through minimally invasive treatments for a variety of vascular conditions, including dialysis access management, varicose veins, uterine fibroids and more. What once required large incisions and prolonged recovery periods can now be accomplished through minimally invasive procedures with less discomfort and a faster return to daily activities.

Since the opening of our practice in 2005, our patients’ care and comfort has been top of mind. Our family-like practice offers an inviting, clean and safe environment where every member of the staff is dedicated to delivering the best patient outcomes and experience possible, including providing conscious sedation, which allows for a comfortable experience during the procedure.

Our medical director, Dr. Mel Rosenblatt, is an interventional radiologist who is fellowship-trained and board certified in diagnostic radiology and vascular and interventional radiology. He uses sophisticated imaging tools to deliver precise therapy. The first in Connecticut to perform endovenous laser ablation and endovenous radiofrequency ablation, he continues to pioneer and improve diagnosis and treatment of venous disease in all its incarnations. Currently, he serves as the President of the American College of Phlebology (ACP), speaking frequently at their meetings as well as the Society for Interventional (SIR) Radiology meetings. Dr. Rosenblatt, our clinical team and the entire staff share a common goal of providing our patients with the highest level of expertise, continuity of care and responsiveness.

Peripheral Artery Disease Treatment

Peripheral Artery Disease Treatment

This buildup—called plaque—narrows your arteries, often reducing or blocking the flow of blood. Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is most commonly seen in the legs, but also can be present in the arteries that carry blood from your heart to your head, arms, kidneys and stomach. Nearly everyone who has PAD, even those who do not have leg symptoms, suffer from an inability to walk as fast or as far as they could before PAD. In all, PAD affects 8 to 12 million people in the United States, especially those that are 50 and older. If you are diagnosed with PAD, the sooner you are treated, the lower your risk of the disease progressing. Talk to Dr. Mel Rosenblatt about minimally invasive treatment options.

Uterine Fibroid Embolization

Uterine Fibroid Embolization

Have you been diagnosed with uterine fibroids? Don’t worry. They are extremely common and treatable. Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that develop within the muscular wall of the uterus. If you have uterine fibroids and are symptomatic, you have a choice in your treatment options. Dr. Mel Rosenblatt offers uterine fibroid embolization (UFE)—a proven, effective alternative to surgery to treat uterine fibroids, with less risk, less pain and less recovery time.

Fallopian Tube Recanalization

Have you been diagnosed with blocked fallopian tubes? Although there are surgical treatments available such as laparascopy and open abdominal surgery, fallopian tube recanalization is a minimally invasive, same-day treatment that does not require any incision—and it doesn’t cause scarring, which can result from surgery. Dr. Mel Rosenblatt can treat your blocked fallopian tubes in a safe and comfortable outpatient environment.

Varicose Veins Treatment

Varicose Veins Treatment

Varicose veins are chronic and recurrent conditions. The variety of treatments available does not offer a cure, but rather a control of the condition. Successfully treated veins cannot come back. However, your inborn tendency to develop new veins will not be cured by this or any other form of treatment. Dr. Mel Rosenblatt treats venous insufficiency completely, removing all backward-flowing veins, making your treatment for varicose veins as thorough as possible.

We Offer the Following Services:

IVC Placement and Removal Procedure

IVC Placement and Removal Procedure

An IVC filter is a medical device that can help prevent blood clots from traveling up your legs and into to your heart and lungs. IVC filter placement and removal are minimally invasive procedures that can be performed safely in our comfortable outpatient center. Contact Dr. Mel Rosenblatt to schedule your personal consultation.

Varicocele Embolization

Varicocele Embolization

A varicocele is a varicose vein of the testicle and scrotum that may cause pain, testicular atrophy (shrinkage) or fertility problems. Veins contain one-way valves that work to allow blood to flow from the testicles and scrotum back to the heart. When these valves fail, the blood pools and enlarges the veins around the testicle in the scrotum to cause a varicocele. As a treatment, urologists often suggest open surgical ligation, but Dr. Mel Rosenblatt can offer varicocele embolization, which is as effective as surgery with less risk, less pain and less recovery time.

Port or PICC Line Placement

Port or PICC Line Placement

If you are receiving treatment such as chemotherapy, it may involve frequent injections and the need for accessible veins. A port or PICC placement can help make these procedures more comfortable for you, especially if your treatment requires frequent access to the bloodstream for medication delivery or blood withdrawal. Talk to Dr. Mel Rosenblatt about how you can spare your veins from frequent needle sticks.
