Our fellowship trained and board certified Medical Director, Dr. Louis Domenico, and team of physicians have a long history of successfully treating patients in the South Philadelphia area. Prompt appointments: For our dialysis access management patients we offer same day/next day appointments when at all possible, allowing you to return to dialysis quickly. Convenient scheduling of appointments is also available for the other treatments we provide. At our center, patients avoid the complexities of a hospital admission, allowing you to return home to recover that same day.

Exceptional patient care: Patients encounter a team that is courteous and respectful. Individual needs are accommodated to ensure patients are comfortable

Efficient and customized communication: Immediate post-procedure reports are sent to your referring physicians, and comprehensive reports follow within 24 hours after the procedure. We partner with your physician care team, focusing on coordinating your vascular care.

Whether you have an AV fistula, AV graft, fistula creation and peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion, peritoneal dialysis catheter, or dialysis catheter, we have the proven treatments to ensure that your dialysis access will function safely and smoothly.

Louis Domenico, Interventional Radiologist, Medical Director

Louis Domenico, MD

Louis Domenico, MD is a vascular and interventional radiologist with expertise in minimally invasive treatments for dialysis access management, varicose veins, uterine fibroids, peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and varicoceles. Dr. Domenico is the Medical Director of The Vein & Vascular Center of South Philadelphia at American Access Care. He also currently serves on the Medical Advisory Board of Azura Vascular Care.

Dr. Domenico is a graduate of Rosewell Park Cancer Institute Master’s Program and earned his medical degree from SUNY Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He completed an internship in internal medicine at SUNY Buffalo Medical Consortium in Buffalo. Dr. Domenico completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in interventional radiology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York.

Dr. Domenico is board certified in diagnostic radiology with a subspecialty certificate in vascular and interventional radiology.

Dr. Ali S. Ahmadinejad, MD, Vascular Surgeon at Azura Vascular Care

Ali S. Ahmadinejad, MD

Dr. Ali Ahmadinejad is a vascular surgeon specializing in dialysis access management. He performs critical maintenance and management of vascular accesses for dialysis patients. Dr. Ahmadinejad treats patients at Azura Vascular Care South Philadelphia, using the most up-to-date, pain-free techniques to help patients improve their quality of life.

Dr. Ahmadinejad earned his medical degree from Ferdowsi University in Mashad, Iran. He went on to complete a fellowship in vascular and cardiothoracic surgery at the Medicinal College of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Ahmadinejad is an American College of Surgeons Fellow, a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and a member the Philadelphia Metropolitan Chapter of ACS. He is board certified in Vascular Surgery

David Hertzog, MD, Interventional Radiologist, General Surgeon at Azura Vascular Care

David Hertzog , MD, FACS

David R. Hertzog, MD, FACS is a general surgeon and interventional radiologist with more than 30 years extensive experience providing exceptional patient care.  He specializes in dialysis access management for ESRD patients and the minimally invasive procedures which maintain proper function and reduce potential disruptions of scheduled dialysis treatments.  Dr. Hertzog treats patients at Azura Vascular Care South Philadelphia.

Dr. Hertzog earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he also completed his surgical residency. He worked as an attending general surgeon for nearly 20 years and then completed a fellowship in interventional radiology from Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.

In addition to academic appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology, Dr. Hertzog has served on many professional and scientific committees within the Capital Health System Medical Center, RWJ-University Hospital at Hamilton and St. Francis Medical Center.  His work also includes several peer reviewed publications in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, among others.

Dr. Hertzog is a member of the American Medical Association, Vascular Access Society of the Americas, Society of Interventional Radiology, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He is board certified in general surgery.
