Interventional Nephrologist

Timothy Williams, MD, is an interventional nephrologist specializing in the critical maintenance and management of vascular accesses for dialysis patients. Dr. Williams preserves and restores the functionality of their accesses at Nephrology Vascular Lab in Birmingham, Alabama.

Dr. Williams graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in systems engineering. He served six years as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy and was deployed twice to the Atlantic in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following his military service, he attended medical school and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama (UAB) School of Medicine. He continued his training at UAB Medical Center and completed an internal medicine residency and a nephrology fellowship. During his final year of fellowship, he served as chief nephrology fellow.

Dr. Williams co-authored numerous publications and is an active member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology.

Dr. Williams is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
