Dr. Phillip N. Madonia is an interventional nephrologist specializing in dialysis access management. He treats patients at Azura Surgery Center Birmingham, in Birmingham, AL.

Dr. Madonia earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. Upon completion of medical school, Dr. Madonia completed residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Louisiana State University Shreveport in Shreveport, LA where he served as chief resident. Subsequently, he served two years on the academic faculty in Medicine and Pediatrics at LSU, followed by a year as assistant professor of internal medicine in the division of nutrition at William Beaumont School of Medicine in Royal Oak, Michigan. He completed his fellowship in nephrology in 2015 at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Madonia is a member of the American Society of Nephrology Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Madonia is board certified in internal medicine, pediatrics, and nephrology. He is also certified by the American Society of diagnostic and interventional nephrology.
