Dr. Armstrong graduated from West Point and earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, followed by a fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Armstrong is a US Army veteran having achieved the rank of Colonel while serving medical facilities at various military bases.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, and the Association of Program Directors for Military Vascular Surgeons. Dr. Armstrong is the author and co-author of numerous publications and delivers lectures at specialty-related conferences.
Dr. Armstrong is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery and is licensed to practice medicine in Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Oregon.
