Gary Shen, MD, is a vascular surgeon specializing in vascular access creation and dialysis access management. Dr. Shen creates AV fistulas and performs minimally invasive procedures for the critical maintenance and management of dialysis accesses at Nevada Kidney Disease & Hypertension Centers (NKDHC) in Henderson, Nevada.
Dr. Shen graduated with honors from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed his general surgery residency training at the University of Arizona, in Tucson, and his transplant fellowship at Stanford University. He served as the chief of the transplant program at University of Nevada School of Medicine until 2008. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shen teaches medical students and residents at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.
Dr. Shen is a fellow of American College of Surgeons and an active member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, American Medical Association and American Society of Transplantation, and he is the co-author of more than 50 publications and abstracts.
Dr. Shen is board certified in surgery.
