Welcome to Nephrology Physicians in Mishawaka!  We’ve been providing compassionate, thoughtful, and state-of-the-art kidney care services to the residents of the Michiana area for more than 40 years, combining skills and expertise that spans the needs of kidney patients.

Led by our Medical Director, Dr. Borenstein, the team of clinicians at Nephrology Physicians is committed to providing superior, comprehensive care to people with kidney disease in a supportive and compassionate environment.

We use the latest minimally invasive options available to treat dysfunctional dialysis accesses in a caring and timely manner, to ensure that you leave our center with a fully functioning access and return to your regular dialysis schedule quickly.

Our goal is to provide every patient with outstanding care and we believe that best care results from focusing on patients, not merely their symptoms.

We’re committed to superior service:

At Nephrology Physicians, patients can expect:

Prompt appointments: Same day/next day appointment when at all possible. Patients return to dialysis quickly and avoid the complexities of a hospital admission.

Exceptional patient care: Patients encounter a team that is courteous and respectful, never indifferent.  Individual needs are accommodated to ensure patients are comfortable and kept well-informed.

Efficient and customized communication: Post-procedure reports are sent immediately, and comprehensive reports follow within 24 hours after the procedure. We partner with your nephrologist and other physicians, coordinating your vascular care.

Educational programs: We provide opportunities for patients to enhance their understanding of their vascular condition and to be empowered.

We encourage your active participation in making your vascular care experience the best it can be. It is our sincere privilege to care for you and we hope to exceed your expectations.

Peripheral Artery Disease

Peripheral Artery Disease

This buildup—called plaque—narrows your arteries, often reducing or blocking the flow of blood. Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is most commonly seen in the legs, but also can be present in the arteries that carry blood from your heart to your head, arms, kidneys and stomach. Nearly everyone who has PAD, even those who do not have leg symptoms, suffer from an inability to walk as fast or as far as they could before PAD. In all, PAD affects 8 to 12 million people in the United States, especially those that are 50 and older. If you are diagnosed with PAD, the sooner you are treated, the lower your risk of the disease progressing. Talk to Dr. Borenstein about minimally invasive treatment options.

We Offer the Following Services:

Port or PICC Line Placement

Port or PICC Line Placement

If you are receiving treatment such as chemotherapy, it may involve frequent injections and the need for accessible veins. A port or PICC placement can help make these procedures more comfortable for you, especially if your treatment requires frequent access to the bloodstream for medication delivery or blood withdrawal. Talk to Dr. Borenstein about how you can spare your veins from frequent needle sticks.
