Athanassios I. Tsoukas, MD, FACS is a vascular surgeon specializing in the treatment of peripheral artery disease (PAD).  Dr. Tsoukas is the Medical Director of South Florida Advanced Access Care in Miami.

Dr. Tsoukas graduated in the top 10% of his class from University of Athens Medical School.  He completed a general surgery residency at Tufts University School of Medicine and was elected Chief Surgical Resident at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center of Boston.  He was a Clinical Vascular Fellow at Cleveland Clinic Foundation for two years.  Dr. Tsoukas developed an early interest in vascular surgery, spending two years developing innovative angioscopic techniques and receiving special training in vascular and endovascular surgery.  He also played a role in the development of the Vascular and Endovascular Program at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach.

He is the author of numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and participated in the CREST trial comparing the outcomes of carotid artery stenting versus carotid endarterectomy (surgical procedure).

Dr. Tsoukas is board certified in surgery and vascular surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
